If technology doesn't seem like magic, it's probably obsolete

I'm finding less time to update my blog these days, but my flickr photostream is often updated.

Playing in my house right now...

Friday was Tania's 21st(!) birthday, so she took over the Salsa Hut just off Leith Walk, which was very cool indeed. Once she'd taken it over, she let some of her friends come in too, which was good of her. The food was tasty, authentic and incredibly well priced, and it was BYOB too! A night to remember ... or forget, depending how much you had to drink. ;-) After we'd hit the hut, we headed back to Jill's for some more drink and chat. Good night all in. I even had an espresso!

On Saturday I went to pick up my kilt. Despite spending ages getting measured due to my ... thinness, the kilt was TOO BIG for me. The nice chap in the shop said he'd reduce the waist for me ... which he did. Unfortunately, that then knocked out the pleats under the front apron (I know my technical kilt-talk, me). They'd also made the kilt over half an inch too big around the waist in the first place. So, I now have no kilt as I returned the one the shop had leant to me. They are making me a whole new kilt! I now have a deadline though - I'm going to a wedding on the 2nd of August, so they have promised to sort me out by then. When I was in the shop, another guy getting his kilt made was quoted over 10 weeks to get it done, so they'd better be putting my order on the double-fasttrack!
