Today was good and bad. The good part was that I did NOT go out (on a Friday!!!) but instead came home, had some tasty food, a few beers and watched Kate win Big Brother. Quite a nice night, all in.
The bad part of today was that I *finally* managed to work out that I wanted a Netgear ME102 access point and an Avaya ORiNOCO Gold card, which is, apparently, the de la of wireless cards.. I put my order together on Dabs, knew that I wanted Saturday delivery and was going to have to pay extra for that, selected the goods ... only to be told that as it was my first order, next day delivery was not available. So, no wireless fun for me this weekend. Every situation does have a plus though - I'll be able to do some more research on the Wireless Access Point (WAP) to ensure I have the right one. I am really excited about getting everything now!
My plan is to open it to the world, or at least what I can see of Morningside. My only fear is that somehow it takes off in the same way my MP3 server did, and the bandwidth is squashed. The audience is certainly a lot smaller here, but you just never know!
