After some network rethinking, and some hardware assistance from Simon (really!), I've ordered my wireless stuff, from Insight. I have never used them before, nor has anyone I know, but they had the best prices and the site seems to be pretty good. As I originally planned, I've gone with a Netgear WAP and an ORiNOCO Gold card. Should be here tomorrow.
When I was reading a newsgroup doing my research, I found a link to a site called nocat.net. They have some excellent links from there, as well as a good quote from Einstein; their site design also pleases my eye. In addition, one of their members wrote the O'Reilly book that I have ordered on Building Wireless Community Networks. Amazon is just a bit too clever these days, though. When I logged in, it suggested I buy an album by Fila Brazilia as I had bought another previously. Then it suggested I buy the latest Beth Orton CD, Daybreaker. OK, call me a sucker. It will be here on Friday.
