Finally I can discuss this! Last weekend Senator Richie, his dad (Commodore Lloyd) and I headed off to do our bit for the Degree Confluence project. Rich had seen this thing ages ago, forgotten about it, found it again, planned to do it ... planned to do it ... planned to do it, then finally he got it together! Sunday was absolutely GLORIOUS weather, and after heading off from Aberdour the views were incredible. It took us just over 45 minutes to get to the spot, and another 45 minutes to get a good picture of the GPS unit ... or so we thought. As it turned out, the first few Rich got clearly showed our exact postion, with zero speed and zero error (apart from the possible error of the unit itself, of course).
I then took some pictures to the south, east, north and west of the point, and some more on the way back to harbour. I'll post these soon - the weather makes them look SO good.
Anyway, you can see the confluence point that we recorded, as well as a few pictures, right here. We also make top billing on the front page of the site. I am HAPPY!
