Flashmobbing

The Edinburgh flash mob draws near - it happens on Thursday evening. Smartmobs has a nice roundup of stories including from Birmingham, where everyone pitched up at a charity shop and handed clothes in at 12.12. Sounds a bit better organised than the Dundee Flashmob, where everyone started getting arrested (they tried to meet and flashmob in the local Tesco). They do have a site, however it's a Microsoft controlled thing, so I'm not linking.

I work for moviebank, usually at the Stockbridge shop. The branch at Newington closed but if you go to either Broughton St, Stockbridge or Dalry and explain that you were a customer there then you get your money transferred and £10 credit for free for all the hassle. The Tollcross branch is run by another franchise owner so not sure about that one... The Broughton branch is easily the best with a huge back catalogue and all the new releases, plus tons of indie/arthouse. As for being a rip-off the staff are usually very accommodating and there are no late fees charged, all you need to do is pop in between 2-10pm and talk with one of us and we'll put your balance back to zero so you don't lose out on any money if it's in the red. That said, I was member of Alphabet before I worked here and it is pretty damn good, I miss old video-shops like that.

Oh yeah, we also sell ice-cream!!!
