Up Or Down

I'm taking Monday, the longest day of the year, off work as a holiday to hire a car and visit somewhere. Now, the options are very wide indeed. I could pick up a car on Sunday afternoon and then stay away somewhere on the Sunday night. Or else get the car on Monday and stay somewhere not-too-far-away on Monday night and drive back into town on Tuesday morning before work (most likely).

Given that I'm only really going to have a day, I don't want to sit on a motorway all the time, so I think somewhere on the coast is looking good, quite possibly Oban, but nothing is anywhere near fixed. Any thoughts or recommendations?
