Unlikely as it is, I've got more to say about TV! Both item reference this original post:
E4 has announced it will be on Freeview from May 27th, so I contacted TopUpTV (you pay for a few more channels on digital TV) to see what they would be doing to counter the exodus of customers who realise they no longer need TopUpTV, given that E4 is about the only useful channel. They said:
Yes at some point in the future E4 is going to free-to-air and all TopUp TV customers will continue to receive it. Top Up TV are reviewing a number of replacement channel options for the near future. Please could we ask what channel you would prefer to be added to the package.Naturally I said Discovery Real Life; they thanked me ... and I'm very confident my mail was filed in the round cabinet on the floor. I'll be voting with my feet, and leaving them to it. Their operation could seriously have gone places, but it has been left to flounder with no renewed direction following the 4 move. The upside is that maybe, jusy maybe, I will never hear Richard Briars voice on TV again.
