If technology doesn't seem like magic, it's probably obsolete

I'm finding less time to update my blog these days, but my flickr photostream is often updated.

Playing in my house right now...

It's been a while since I've really been surprised by a new piece of technology and really wanted one for myself (apart from phones, obviously), but it's happened twice today. First up was the new Squeezebox 3, which just looks fantastic. That IS on my shopping list once I get a new computer and dump a lot of CDs to FLAC.

The second thing was seeing that Matt finally received his Nokia 770. This thing is billed as an Internet tablet, and just looks immense. No GSM/3G connection, just straight wifi, but ... man, I want one. If the Nokia store had had one in stock, my bank account could have felt a little lighter. Couple that with a Canon Digital IXUS Wireless and I could practically say goodbye to wires in my house. Oh, I'd also need one of these, just to complete the set.

So many gadgets, so little money... ;-)
