8Mbps ADSL

My 8Mbps ADSL has been provisioned, so now I'm playing a waiting game until the exchange is upgraded to run at 8Mbps. Here's the BT announcement.

Thanks to ADSLguide.org.uk you can see the state of your exchange using the demand tracker. You'll want to have this handy so that you know what the status means. Here's my local exchange (Morningside) which is not yet ADSL Maxed and, for comparison, the Londonderry exchange which is Maxed.

I work for moviebank, usually at the Stockbridge shop. The branch at Newington closed but if you go to either Broughton St, Stockbridge or Dalry and explain that you were a customer there then you get your money transferred and £10 credit for free for all the hassle. The Tollcross branch is run by another franchise owner so not sure about that one... The Broughton branch is easily the best with a huge back catalogue and all the new releases, plus tons of indie/arthouse. As for being a rip-off the staff are usually very accommodating and there are no late fees charged, all you need to do is pop in between 2-10pm and talk with one of us and we'll put your balance back to zero so you don't lose out on any money if it's in the red. That said, I was member of Alphabet before I worked here and it is pretty damn good, I miss old video-shops like that.

Oh yeah, we also sell ice-cream!!!
