The Adventure Racing World Championship 2006 are taking place in Sweden right now -- quite literally. The race is 7 days long and covers pretty much every sport out there. Check out the race reports to get a flavour of the event.
Next year the AR World Championship is being held in Scotland, so there was talk amongst the team I completed the Rat Race with of putting a team together. I was up for it, but after reading those reports, I'm scared at the thought!
As you can see, I've got my del.icio.us link poster working again, after I snapped it last weekend. Enjoy!
After months of procrastination I finally get my del.icio.us links automated to post each day, only for del.icio.us to close off the version of the API the script was using the next day. Things should be fixed now...
Since my previous post on setting up a new Dell, there were several interesting links by email and in the comments. Dell seem to be doing some nasty things with their MyWay software, meaning the only real way to set up a new Dell is to reformat the computer and start afresh. Sigh.
The del.icio.us thing at the top of the page, was taking too long to load, so I got my finger out and, based on this dude's work put together a script which grabs my del.icio.us links and posts them on my site. Nice.
Mahyad picked up a sweet new phone: a Sony Ericsson k800i. Whilst Mahyad marvelled at the beautiful design, 3G opportunities, crisp screen, RSS reader, excellent browser, 3.2 megapixel camera and audio functions, all I wanted to know was if push email (think Blackberry functionality, without having to pay the earth or being locked to a hardware solution) worked properly.
My attempts to get it set up didn't work, but Mahyad sorted it, with everything set up and running perfectly. Within a few seconds of a mail being sent, the phone gave a ping and there it was! Mahyad uses the same hosting as Jim and I, so our tests a few weeks ago have bourne fruit.
Why am I so interested? Well, my new phone isn't that far away, and if everything is working for Mahyad there is an excellent chance I'll be able to get it up and running quickly (although I may needs Jammy Gilani's help!).
If you enjoy seeing/hearing artistic performances in the Queen's Hall, you should support the campaign to ensure it keeps being funded. Full details are here: www.edinburghnews.com/savethequeenshall.
