I've decided to take a foray into pay TV services. It kicks off on the 31st of March.

That's a very circumstantial comment. My TV watching is pretty minimal -- perhaps 30 minutes a day. I have absolutely no wish to have a dish hanging off my house, nor do I wish to pay loads-cash for four million channels which I would undoubtedly never watch.
TopUp TV cost me GBP 10 to sign up and then GBP 8 per month, and there is no contract period -- it works on a month to month basis. There was also no additional hardware cost, so even if I bin it within a month, the experiment has only cost me GBP 18.
