Although I have been watching TV and intentionally not exercising following the marathon, I have been trying to plan out what's next (as many of you have asked, online and off). On one hand it's tricky to say, and the other hand it's not.
The easy part is stating my two running goals for this calendar year:
- run a sub-4 hour marathon
- run a sub-40 minute 10k
Right now I'm keeping a close eye on MarathonGuide.com to see what looks interesting on the marathon front and Scottish Athletics for 10ks and half marathons, as well as the 'interesting' runs.
Last night I did my first post-marathon run of about 5 easy miles, which felt really nice. Knees are a little stiff this morning, but no major worries. I'm now training/preparing for the Great Caledonian Run (10k) on the 8th of May. There are plenty of my friends and colleagues running too.
This June I'm aiming for the Seven Hills Race, too. Training will be beginning forthwith. There is also a run with The New Town Hash Harriers in the offing.
So, quiet is a relative term, eh?
