London truly was a whirlwind visit. My flight into London City Airport was superb, and I managed to swiftly navigate my way on the Tube to the Tate Modern, taking in Rachel Whiteread's EMBANKMENT and the Jeff Wall retrospective work (I love photography, so much so that I bought the book). If I'd planned a little better, I would have aimed for the Tate Britain to see this year's Turner Prize entries.
The MobileMonday London meet was great fun, and particularly excellent to catch up with Jim, Rafe, Russ, David and Tom, whom I shared a train ride all the way back to Brighton with (thanks Allan for letting me stay).
Yesterday I managed lunch at the Porthouse pub in Covent Garden which is recommended for a visit, and then a fleeting pint at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese before zooming back to the airport and home again.
It was excellent to see everyone, but too bad to miss Al and Grant, Ryo & Maki. Potentially I'll be back down towards the 17th of November, in which case I'll give more advance warning.
