Things done in Chennai so far:

met my colleagues, who have all been incredibly welcoming, helpful and happy to show me around
visited Elliots Beach
visited Marina Beach
Santhome Church
saw Sillunu Oru Kadhal at Prarthana Drive-In Theatre, then ate at ~~Kebab Korner~~Kebab Court on ECR ~~(I think)~~
had discussions with extreme nice Indians in the lifts, always interested to know why I'm visiting Chennai

I work for moviebank, usually at the Stockbridge shop. The branch at Newington closed but if you go to either Broughton St, Stockbridge or Dalry and explain that you were a customer there then you get your money transferred and £10 credit for free for all the hassle. The Tollcross branch is run by another franchise owner so not sure about that one... The Broughton branch is easily the best with a huge back catalogue and all the new releases, plus tons of indie/arthouse. As for being a rip-off the staff are usually very accommodating and there are no late fees charged, all you need to do is pop in between 2-10pm and talk with one of us and we'll put your balance back to zero so you don't lose out on any money if it's in the red. That said, I was member of Alphabet before I worked here and it is pretty damn good, I miss old video-shops like that.

Oh yeah, we also sell ice-cream!!!
